bars & eateries

This modern neighbourhood was established many years ago, but it actually began to take on incredible dimensions in the eighties when many buildings rapidly emerged, a good deal of which were the property of new foreign residents who were pleased with the peace and quiet in the area.

Bahia Beach Club

In Bahia Beach you will enjoy incredible sunshine days while you are seduced by delicious and unique cocktails
and a special menu. Come and enjoy all our facilities and activities: Lounge-Restaurant, Hammocks
and Balinese beds, Beach Volley, Massage, White Sand and much more…

Dining Area

There is DVD player and a Dutch sattelite box, minus the card (a lot of the people in the complex seem to be Belgian or Dutch retirees).

The Kitchen

The kitchen should have everything you need. Please help yourself to consumables, preferably replacing things that run out. If the garbage fills up you can take it out to one of the bins in the street. There are also have bins for glass, and for paper/cardboard in the street.

The Bedroom

The bedroom looks out onto the balcony and has some storage units.

The Bathroom

The bathroom has a shower, bathtub with whirlpool/spa and a double sink unit.

utilities

You may need to switch the electricity and water on when you first arrive. The electricity is right by the front door. Just push the main switch up:

The apartment has no central heating and it can get cold in the evenings, so bring sweaters. The climate here of course is generally hot, but it is also windy (except, of course, when I want it to be). The locals generally wear shirts and long trousers.

electricity

If the apartment is likely to be empty for a long time after you leave, please switch these off, leaving the fridge and freezer doors open, when you go.

water

The water main is in the utility room which you access via the kitchen. The picture also shows the electric water heater, so if the electricity was switched off when you arrived, do not expect hot water until it has had a chance to warm up

Tenerife

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands situated off the North west coast of Africa and due to its constant good weather, excellent beaches (12 Blue Flag) and spectacular natural beauty it attracts over 3 million visitors every year.

South Tenerife

This area is best known for its many hours of sunshine and its attractive and accessible beaches boasting many facilities. However, it also has picturesque towns and villages, which preserve their traditional character. There are nature areas and great scenery where you can do sports and outdoor activities.

Palm Mar

Calle Cernícalo runs East-West and is at the Southern edge of Palm Mar. South of it is just a Nature Reserve. Note the one-way system. There should not be a problem parking.

contact

Nathalie Geudens, who works for Los Menceyes Properties at the junction of Calle Tortola and Avenida el Palm-Mar, has a key. Her number is +34 607 903930. Note: Only in office hours.

wireless

There is wireless internet. The router is set to the factory settings which are printed on the unit. I just ran a speed test: 16Mb/s download, 0.1Mb/s upload, so not super-fast, but adequate for most purposes.

car hire

I would recommend hiring a car if you visit. There is a lot to see and do in Tenerife, most of which requires a car. Car hire seems to work out at about €20 per day, regardless of who you hire with.

there is the swimming pool, local restaurants, a supermarket and some beach front. The coast is mostly rocky but there is a stony beach at the North end. Apart from Fuerteventura, the Canaries does not really have traditional sandy beaches, and in the resort towns of Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas further up the coast they simply created them, importing the sand.
